Start From Where You Are

01 · The container

What
is it?

A safe residential container where men gather in peer support to build character and regain purpose through physical effort, daily rhythm and collaborative group work.

Daily routine

Built around an early morning practice combining mindfulness, physical movement, open communication, and immersion in nature, to start each day with clarity and presence.

Collective activity

Practical, hands-on work focusing on communal food gardens, ecological land restoration, and sustainable building projects that contribute to the surrounding community and environment.

Clean living agreements

A shared commitment to full sobriety, with strictly no alcohol, recreational drugs or smoking, complemented by a clean, nourishing diet to reset healthy baselines.

Community & culture

Shared group living including communally prepared meals, evening fire sharing circles, outreach missions to partner initiatives, and outdoor adventures and campouts.

Skill development

Practical, peer-supported training centred on building self-awareness, active communication, team dynamics, and a deeper ecological understanding.

Accountability framework

Clear personal and group agreements, held alongside a team of men who support and hold one another to their highest standards and goals.

Trees Grow Best In A Forest

02 · Anyone is welcome

Who is
it for?

It's for Men,
Brothers Young and Old.

Whether you just need a change in your life, want to make new friends, or you've lost your way a little, wandered off track, and aren't sure of the best way to get back.

Whether you've found yourself in a bit of bother, or have experienced a challenging period in life, and just need a way to reset and see a new way forward from where you are now.

You might be in a place that's hard for others to know how to help, and need something the government, your family, or community can't easily provide.

Or maybe you're full of beans, know who you are, your place in life, and you're looking for a new experience or meaningful way to offer your skills and support to others in need.

Anyone is welcome to join the Djedi tribe. Just reach out, let's chat, and see if a stint on the mountain feels like the right choice for you.

Raise The Djed Within

03 · The name
“The stable ones”
Pillars of the world

Why it exists

The program draws its name from the ancient Egyptian term Djedi. Historically, the raising of the Djed occurred during transitional eras to restore stability, alignment, and leadership in service of the community.

A modern framework for men to:

  • Remove daily distractions, intoxicants, and habits that cause stagnation.
  • Develop practical self-discipline, accountability, and communication skills.
  • Learn to be of service to others while building mental and physical resilience.

In Giving We Grow

04 · The training ground

Where
is it?

It's at Arcoora
Arts & Ecology Training Ground.

A non-profit community based organisation dedicated to ecological regeneration, bioregional resilience, and community education.

The work we do each day helps maintain the market gardens, food forests and natural landscape. We restore infrastructure and service machinery, we work on art projects and prepare for events.

We also go on adventures off-site in the World-Heritage listed Border Ranges National Park; an ancient and wild landscape. And head out on outreach projects to help others in the community.

The work we do is of direct benefit to a greater cause. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and are received with much gratitude.

Let The Roots Grow Deep

09 · Build brotherhood

Grow
together

Peer support isn't an authority or something that's forced. It's mates in the mud, laughing under a waterfall, carrying the same load and sitting around the fire. With the chance to make life-long friends.
